Dear Neighbors,
It's time for a change, it's time for action, it's time for new leadership. Edmund Burke once said "those who don't know history are destined to repeat it" and it is apparent that our government and our elected leaders do not know history. However, this is not just an observation about Washington, D.C. and Albany, but also about the legislature in Rockland County.
We are facing difficult times. Everyone seemingly knows somebody who has lost their job, can't find work, or is having trouble making ends meet due to our economic situation. However, this is not the first time we, as Americans, have faced uncertainty in these areas and I am convinced that we will once again regain our footing. The only questions is how soon.
History has taught us that there's a proven path out of the economic storm we find ourselves in. Unfortunately, some leaders in government do not want to follow this path. Instead, they want to continue down the opposite path, the path of irresponsible behavior and governmental over-reaching that has prolonged the storm.
That is why I am running for the 10th District's Seat in the Rockland County Legislature. The action we must take is simple and straight-forward. We must provide an environment of financial stability through balancing budgets, controlling spending, eliminating waste and reducing our deficits. We must also limit the taxes that families and business face for being in Rockland County. These steps will promote growth, encourage investment in new and existing business, and put our neighbors back to work.
